AMA - Ask me Anything with Teacher Liz

Smart Readers Club is more than a reading club. It is a children’s community created to give children opportunities to use English in real-life situations.
No matter how well children learn from a good teacher, complete exercises in books, or answer exam papers, real communication is essential to truly develop their English skills. The best way to improve a language is to use it! 🗣️💬
That is why we recently launched the first step of our newest programme designed to develop our children’s English speaking and communication skills — giving them the opportunity to communicate with a teacher from another country. 🌎
Our first international guest was Teacher Liseth from Bolivia. 🇧🇴❤️
Children from different parts of Sri Lanka joined us to speak with Teacher Liseth. Children who normally communicate in Sinhala or Tamil, and a teacher who speaks Spanish, had one common language to communicate with each other — English! 🇱🇰🤝🇧🇴
Our children had so many questions! 😍
They were incredibly curious to learn about Bolivia, a country that is quite unfamiliar to many Sri Lankan children.
Many of our young Smart Readers had the opportunity to ask questions, listen, communicate and learn — using English for a real purpose.
And they made the most of this wonderful opportunity! 💯👏
The programme ended with our monthly Quiz Champ competition. 🏆🎯
The children were able to answer many questions based on what they had just learned about Bolivia. So, they not only gained new knowledge, but also had the opportunity to test what they learned immediately and win prizes! 🎁✨
📚 Smart Readers Club is not just about reading.
Along with daily reading, we create opportunities for children to practise and develop different skills in real situations — speaking, communicating, thinking, sharing ideas, gaining knowledge and much more.
And through these experiences, children create memories that can stay with them for a lifetime. ❤️
